DANVERS — Two North Shore men arrested following an unarmed robbery at a Nashua, N.H., credit union are being linked to two bank holdups in Danvers last month.

Jeffrey Monico, 28, of 2 Ledgewood Way, Peabody, and Kevin Maloney, 28, of Saugus were arrested Saturday in Nashua following a robbery at Digital Credit Union.

Danvers police said the two men are also responsible for two unarmed robberies at two Salem Five banks.

The Salem Five branch on Endicott Street was robbed on April 17, and the High Street branch was robbed two days later. The robbers had a similar description and method of operation — passing a note to a teller demanding cash — in the two robberies.

Danvers police worked with FBI, the state police bank robbery task force and police from surrounding communities, including Beverly and Ipswich, since April 27 to track down robbers in their town.

On April 28, police in Beverly investigated an attempted robbery at the Bank of America on Enon Street, and Ipswich investigated a robbery at Sovereign Bank on Central Street believed to be committed by the same person. Information on whether the two men are connected to those robberies was unavailable yesterday.

The men were robbing banks to feed a heroin addiction, according to information from a Lawrence police report.
