May 10, 2008 04:41 am Topsfield Friday r Bryan Rae, 25, of 49 Middle St., Newburyport, was arrested at 3:36 a.m. and charged with drunken driving and a marked lanes violation after a traffic stop on Boxford Road. Danvers Friday r Overnight, cars were reportedly broken into on Williams Street (two vehicles), Hyde Street (two vehicles), Kimberly Drive, Maple Street, Riverview Avenue and Clark Street (two vehicles). r Jeffrey Pointer, 23, of 51 Bradford Road, Peabody, and John Visone, 28, of 54 Goodale St., Peabody, were arrested at 2:10 p.m. and charged with shoplifting after an incident at Stop & Shop on Newbury Street. r Paul Segura, 20, and Freddy Velasquez, 25, both of 5 Hilltop Drive, Beverly, were arrested at 2:48 p.m. after an incident at the Liberty Tree Mall. Segura was charged with disorderly conduct, and Velasquez was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery. Peabody Thursday r Police stopped an ice cream truck at 6:50 p.m., finding it had a valid state permit but not a city permit. The owner quit selling for the night and planned to get a city permit in the morning. r Firefighters handled a brush fire off Washington Street near railroad tracks at 7:13 p.m. r Two people thought they had heard gunshots near Crane Brook Way at 10:42 p.m. Friday r At 12:21 p.m., someone reported seeing a wild turkey trying to cross Route 1. Police looked, but it was a wild goose chase. r Stephen Lyon, 56, of 50 Ellsworth Road, Peabody, will be summonsed to court on charges of drunken driving, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. His Toyota was found in the shrubs at Dorsi's Bakery on Washington Street at 12:37 p.m. Lyon was taken to Salem Hospital by ambulance. r Eduardo Lopez, 22, of 67 Woodman Ave., Lynn, was arrested at 3:32 p.m. and charged with driving without a license, giving false name and address, failure to use care while driving, and an unsafe lane change after a traffic stop on Newbury Street. r At 5:03 p.m., an employee of the Lahey Clinic reported finding a Capital One MasterCard had been opened in her name at her work address, 1 Essex Center Drive. An officer vowed to do a report after finding out there may be at least two other victims under the same address. Salem Thursday r At 6:43 p.m., a Sophia Road resident reported someone had stolen three aluminum ladders valued at $800; the thieves didn't take a pair of fiberglass ladders. A half-hour later, a Madeline Avenue man reported that two of his aluminum ladders, valued at $450, had been stolen. Friday r At 1:20 a.m., a resident of the 200 block of Lafayette Street reported that someone had broken into his apartment Thursday evening. The thief took a Wii and a laptop computer. r Ashley M. Germano, 19, of 24 Andover St., Peabody, was arrested at 10:08 a.m. and charged with assault and malicious destruction of property. Police found Germano in a Peal Street apartment, with her boyfriend locked inside his bathroom. The boyfriend said they had gotten in an argument after he found her drugs, which made her angry. He went into the bathroom when she picked up a mirror, which police found broken. He told police he had flushed the drugs down the toilet. r A Topsfield police officer called his Salem colleagues after finding a baby left alone in the back seat of a car in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 11:57 a.m. The car's owner returned 10 minutes later and said she'd assigned a cousin to stay with the baby, but the cousin instead went into the Game Stop store. Police called social workers and filed a neglect report. r A man found bags of clothes and prescription bottles of oxycodone and clonazepam in electrical closets at 1 Salem Green. With them were also two screwdrivers, two flashlights and toiletries. Police took the items into custody; the man changed the locks to the electrical closets. r Someone kicked in the cellar door of a North Street building under renovation. r Superior Court employees called police at 3:04 p.m., saying a man was being loud and disruptive and was no longer wanted in the building. The man agreed to return Monday to copy paperwork for his upcoming case. r Police issued fines of $200 after someone had unregistered dogs without rabies certifications off their leashes on Winter Island. Beverly Thursday r Police filed a report at 3:29 p.m. after the Beverly School Department said two Lynn youths had an altercation in a school building at 502 Cabot St. r Three pieces of granite curbing were missing from the property line of a Bow Street condominium building. r Two police officers heard of a street fight with a knife at 11:55 p.m. at Rantoul Street and Railroad Avenue, but no one was found there. However, police did break up a large group on Park Street at 1:18 a.m. and another group at Hardy and Pleasant streets at 2:15 a.m. Friday r A caller from Ward's Florist on Cabot Street reported that it had been broken into overnight.
