July 06, 2009 12:34 am Salem Friday Police receive a report at 4:50 p.m. of youths playing with air rifles or paintball guns on Balcomb Street. When arrived at the scene, there was no one in the area. Police investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Mason and Flint streets at 4:56 p.m. Police said the crash happened when 1997 Ford Escort on Mason Street heading towards the intersection struck the rear passenger's-side door of a 1997 Toyota Camry. There were no injuries in the crash. Kim D. Cao, 48, of 144 Brook St., Quincy, was arrested at 7 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery and intimidation of a witness following a report of a domestic on a boat in the water. Assistant Harbormaster Thomas St. Pierre received a call from the radio from the victim, John Valentine, who was on the boat. Police said Valentine said he was being assaulted by his girlfriend. Police responded to a report of several undesirables in the rear lot of 315 Essex St., at 9:30 p.m. A 2007 Nissan and a tractor-trailer were involved in a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Hess gas station on North Street. Police said the Nissan was in the blind spot of a gasoline tanker backing in to deliver fuel to the underground storage tanks. The Nissan had damage to the front bumper and left, front headlight. Saturday Anthony Hearns (no age or address given) will be summonsed to court for an assault charge after police spoke to an emergency department nurse at Salem Hospital who said Hearns attempted to hit her in the face but missed, hitting the intravenous pole instead. The pole almost hit her in the face. Christopher W. Anthony, 20, of 37 Broadman St., Salem, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. and charged with violating the city's knife ordinance at East India Square. Patrolman Thomas Pelletier made the arrest. Diomar A. Fuentes, 24, of 16 Dow St., Salem, was arrested at 5:45 p.m. and charged with driving while unlicensed following a motor vehicle stop on West Avenue. Patrolmen Brian St. Pierre and Kristen Hanson made the arrest. Sunday Police responded to the area of 300 Derby St., at 1:10 a.m. for a report of a fight in the middle of the street. One of the two men fighting was taken into protective custody. Topsfield Saturday Corbin Santin, 17, of 36 Main St., Wenham, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. and charged with driving without a license, failure to stop for police, reckless driving, and a red light violation, following a motor vehicle stop on Ipswich Road. Patrick Cronin, 20, of 21 Lafayette Road, Ipswich, was arrested 3:13 a.m. and charged with drunken driving, unlicensed driving, transporting alcohol by a minor, and a marked-lanes violation, following a motor vehicle stop on Ipswich Road. Peabody Friday Ernesto Ferman, 34, of 18 Chestnut St., Peabody, and Gordon Novick, 46, of 195 Union St., Apt. 20, Lynn, were arrested at 9:30 p.m. and charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, following a report of a possible break-in in progress at a Central Street home. Saturday Diane McBride, 48, of 5 Sylvia Road, Peabody, was arrested at 12:20 a.m. and charged with drunken driving, a marked-lanes violation and failure to yield, following a stop on Route 1. Robert M. Flammia, 25, of 11 Hillcrest Ave., Apt. 2, Beverly, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. and charged with drunken driving, following a report of a house party at the end of Granite Court. Police responded and the party dispersed and police said Flammia was involved in a car crash. Swampscott Saturday Christopher Clain, 18, of 62 Thomas Road, Swampscott, was arrested at 5:35 a.m. on Foster Road and charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle with intent to commit a felony. He was also charged with three counts of possession tools to commit a burglary. Sunday Midwan Norelus, 32, of 76 Norfolk Ave., Apt. 1, Swampscott, was arrested at 3:38 a.m. on Burrill Street and charged with drunken driving, speeding, negligent driving and a marked-lanes violation.
