Nearly 3,400 gifts for soldiers were wrapped in two hours by Operation Troop Support volunteers at Holten Richmond Middle School in Danvers last Saturday.
These monthly wraps draw crowds, young and old, from every community in the area. The gifts are kept in climate-controlled storage units until December, when they are sent to the deployed soldiers. Nearly 8,800 gifts have been wrapped this year, and three more wraps are scheduled between now and November.

The Woman's Friend Society would like to give a tremendous thank-you to the 20 members of Deloitte and Touche of Boston who volunteered at their Community Day at the Emmerton House at 12 Hawthorne Blvd. These enthusiastic young men and women led by Stephen Sadoski (center front in picture) washed the antique wallpaper in the huge dining room used by the 20 lady residents. Despite the rain, The Deloitte and Touche team then tackled the gardens surrounding the 18th-century house and spread nine yards of mulch.
