SALEM —The body of a 51-year-old local man was pulled from Salem Harbor Saturday morning.
Salem Detective Sgt. Stephen Bona said, "At this time it appears to be a drowning."
He added foul play is not suspected. As of Saturday afternoon, police were not releasing the victim’s name.
Salem and state police were at the docks at Palmer's Cove Yacht Club Saturday morning waiting for personnel from the medical examiner's office to take the body for an autopsy.
Bona said someone from the yacht club, on Leavitt Street in the city's Point neighborhood, found the body at 11 a.m.
The body was near the buoys near the rocks of the Shetland Park property.
This is the second time in as many weeks police have pulled a body from the harbor.
On Aug. 25, the body of 25-year-old Swampscott native Jocelyn Callahan was found near the Shetland Park property.
