TOPSFIELD — Bob Holloway didn’t plan to show up on Labor Day when he officially took office as the Massachusetts Bar Association’s newest vice president, but he suspects he’ll be spending a lot of time helping the organization.
A Topsfield resident for about 25 years, he’s spent his entire legal career, since December 1973, with the same Peabody law firm, now known as MacLean, Holloway, Doherty, Ardiff & Morse. He’s just coming off a one-year stint as the Massachusetts Bar Association’s secretary.
“I’m a trial lawyer by trade and spend a lot of time in court,” he said. “... In all of my capacities at the Mass Bar, I’ve nearly always been involved in some way or another with initiatives relating to the court system.”
He’s done everything from working with Boston University and Harvard law students to being a regular panelist in educational efforts such as “How to Try a Civil Case in Superior Court.”
Before Holloway became so involved with the Bar Association, he served on the Masconomet Regional School Committee and on the Topsfield Board of Health, Topsfield Athletic Association and Danvers Recreation Committee.
