Wharf meeting tonight

SALEM — The city will hold a public meeting tonight on revised plans for the proposed Salem Wharf.

Last month, the state announced an additional $2.3 million in funds for a city pier that could handle small cruise ships, commercial vessels, the Salem ferry and other activity.

The city, which still needs to acquire the pier site from power plant owner Dominion, is moving ahead on designing and permitting the structure. A request for a state waterways license is on the Planning Board agenda this week.

The 6 p.m. meeting is at St. Joseph's Hall, 160 Derby St.
