SALEM — There will be a lot of smart and successful women here on Thursday when the Enterprise Center at Salem State College holds its fourth annual Million Dollar Women Symposium.

The program at the Hawthorne Hotel will honor five women who have led companies with more than $1 million in revenues.

The event, which is open to the public, includes a panel discussion where the women tell their personal stories, share business experiences and answer questions.

This year's panelists are Jill Cheng, president of Cheng & Tsui of Boston, a publisher of Asian-language textbooks; Livia Cowan, president and creative director of Mariposa, a Manchester-by-the-Sea company that specializes in handmade tableware; Victoria Jackson, owner of Atlantic Lab Equipment in Salem; Linda Sallop, president and CEO of Sallop Insurance Agency of Boston; and Janet Santa Anna, president of The Resource Connection Inc. of Middleton, a staffing company.

They will be joined by nine past honorees.

Salem State President Patricia Meservey, the keynote speaker, will talk about "Women-Owned Businesses and the Regional Economy."

The Nov. 6 symposium runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The panel discussion is from 9:45-11:15 a.m. Tickets for the program and lunch are $40 with advanced registration. For more information, contact Laura DeToma Swanson at 978-542-7528 or www.enterprisectr.org.
