WEB UPDATE: West Peabody woman dies in Route 1 crash

A three-car accident on Route 1 Friday morning killed a West Peabody woman, injured three others and shut down a three-mile stretch of the highway for an hour and a half, state police said.
Joyce E. Oliver, 73, died after her Mercury Sable was hit head-on by a Volvo driven by Buck C. Bishop, 18, of Danvers at about 9:12 a.m., according to state police.
The crash occurred on an undivided section of Route 1 with single travel lanes in both directions near the Topsfield line.
Oliver was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to Beverly Hospital, where she was declared dead, police said. Bishop had minor injuries, and an ambulance took him to Beverly Hospital.
Just after the collision, a Honda Civic driven by Matthew B. Schlosser and crashed into both the Volvo and the Mercury.
Schlosser, 25, of Cambridge, and his front-seat passenger, Heather K. Rahhal, 31, of Dorchester both suffered minor injuries were taken to Beverly Hospital, police said.
Police have not charged anyone in the crash, but they are investigating.
