Hamilton property assessments available

HAMILTON — The Board of Assessors has completed its fiscal year 2009 property revaluation and received preliminary certification by the Department of Revenue.

Assessed valuations were adjusted to reflect the fair market value as of Jan. 1, 2008. The average residential assessed value is $515,800, which is a decrease of about 4.3 percent. Actual valuation increases will vary based upon real estate sales, location, additions or alterations, and property class.

The new valuations are available for public viewing at the Assessors Office in Town Hall. The information is available through a public access computer terminal, as well as printed property listings.

The disclosure process will end Monday, Dec. 2, at noon. Town Hall hours are Monday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon.
