Letter: Thanks to the many who helped with 12th annual North Shore Arc Walk

To the editor:

Sunday, June 29, was the North Shore Arc's 12th annual Walk and Family Celebration.

Whether walking with a family or team, pushing strollers or wheelchairs, rushing to complete the route or walking slowly to help someone not so steady on their feet, the sight of these dedicated individuals is always an inspiration.

I'd like to thank our sponsors for their generous support, including: Citibank, title sponsor; Kelly's Roast Beef, lunch sponsor; and Danvers Ford and Osram Sylvania, water-stop sponsors. Thanks also to Atlas Glen-Mor Oil, Coast Maintenance Supply, Northeast Clinical Services, United Benefits Service, Beverly National Bank, Lyons Ambulance Service, Sunnyside Bowladrome, Colonial Engravers, CTI Cabling Technologies, Custom Cleaning Service, Cranney Printing & Promotional Products, Danversport Yacht Club, East Boston Savings Bank, ERC Wiping Products, Thomson Communications, and our in-kind sponsors: Cakes For Occasions, Cherry Farm Creamery, Danvers Hardware, Ellen Niciewksy, Henry's of Beverly, "J" and "Lady Loveheart," Kiwanis of Danvers and our extraordinary band, Exit Laughing.

Our volunteers also deserve recognition and I wish I could list everyone's name, but whether you were cheering people on along the route, setting up signs, painting faces, running the moon bounce, helping with spin art, working the registration tent, or helping with any of the other tasks, I hope each and every person that donated their time and talents know how much they are appreciated. A special thank-you to our walk committee for all of their hard work and effort in planning this annual walk. We couldn't possibly run this event without you.

It was the first time we have been an official Danvers Family Festival event and it made the day that much more enjoyable. Thank you to the committee for welcoming us into your family.

If you didn't get a chance to walk, but would still like to make a contribution to help us fund the multitude of programs and services that we provide for individuals with developmental disabilities, we would truly appreciate it. You can send donations to the development office at the North Shore Arc, 64 Holten St., Danvers, MA 01923

Another tasty way you can support the North Shore Arc is by visiting Cakes For Occasions in Danvers during the month of July. They will be selling specialty cupcakes and donating $1 of every cupcake sold to the Arc.

On behalf of the individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, I thank you for your continued support of the North Shore Arc.
