Fucillo resigns at Winthrop

Tony Fucillo has resigned as the football coach at Winthrop High, closing out a 17-year career as head coach with a 13-0 dream season that included his fourth Northeastern Conference championship and first Division 3A Super Bowl title.

Fucillo, who could not be reached last night, submitted his resignation Friday to Athletic Director James Coffey, but the move did not surprise family friends who were aware of Tony's desire to watch his sons Anthony (Colgate) and James (prep school bound) play football next fall.Read this article in full with a
