GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

CAROLINE STEWART

Masconomet Sr. Forward

It would be easy to justify Stewart's Player of the Year status with statistics, but numbers alone don't tell the story of the most polished player on the North Shore.

Since arriving at Masconomet three years ago as a sophomore, the only thing that Stewart has done that truly matters is win. In her three seasons, the Chieftains went 22-1, 20-3 and 20-2.

Unmatched in the post, ferocious on the boards and fearless with the game on the line, Stewart improved her skills in the offseason by increasing her range to the 3-point line and added left-handed post moves. She will graduate with more than 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.

Stewart, who averaged 16.7 points per game this season to go along with 12 rebounds, nearly three assists and two steals a game, will continue her career at Division 1 Boston University.
