New Peabody High football coach Scott Wlasuk will be one of the featured guests on tomorrow's "North Shore Sports Desk" on North Shore 104.9 FM between 8-9 a.m. In addition, Bishop Fenwick girls lacrosse scoring superstar Bridget Dullea, the state's leading goal scorer, will also be on the show, as will Danvers High baseball ace right-hander Bobby Dean and North Shore golf author Gary Larrabee. Bill Kipouras and Phil Stacey from The Salem News are the show's co-hosts.
Youth Sports Series
"Let The Kids Play", a talk about adults and children in organized youth sports and who wins and loses, will be held Thursday, May 22 at Cascia Hall at Merrimack College in North Andover from 7-9 p.m. Former NBA player and youth sports activist Bob Bigelow will be the guest speaker.
The series is being put on by the Northeast Rehabilitation Health Network and RallyNorth.net. Admission is free and no RSVP is required, but you can reserve a seat in advance and receive an extra ticket in our raffle drawings. Peabody Legion Post 153 baseball tryouts have been rescheduled for tomorrow and Sunday beginning at 3 p.m. at Peabody High School. There will also be a junior program for the first time, with players under age 17 as of Dec. 31, 2008 eligible and those under 19 eligible for the legion squad. Danvers Legion Post 180 tryouts will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Twi-Field in Danvers. Players must either be residents of Danvers or attend St. John's Prep, and must attend at least one tryout to be considered for the team. The Mary Moulton/St. Mary's School in Beverly golf tournament will be held Monday, June 9 at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club, with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. The fee is $135 per player, which includes greens fees, cart, dinner, prizes, a player gift bag and several holes-in-one.
