May 17, 2008 12:20 am Peabody's Jeff Allison picked up his second straight win for the Class A Jupiter Hammerheads Thursday night in their 5-2 victory over the Brevard County Manatees. Allison, now 2-4 after taking four losses and three no-decisions in his first seven starts, worked 1-2-3 innings in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings for the Hammerheads. Two hits and a walk loaded the bases for the Manatees with no outs in their two-run third inning. Darren Ford followed with an RBI single and Brevard County added another run on a double-play ball. Allison forced a groundout to end the inning. Jupiter scored four times in the second inning and added a fifth run in the third to provide Allison with a five-run cushion. Although Allison has a modest strikeout to walk ratio (25 Ks, 21 BBs), he continues to dazzle on the mound. He has thrown 43.2 innings and currently has a 2.47 ERA, which leads all Hammerhead pitchers who have thrown 20 or more innings.
