Peabody West 11, Manchester Essex 0
Austin Batchelor pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine and Peabody West banged out 11 hits in a game that was called after four innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Matt Hosman clubbed a pair of homers, including a grand slam, and Batchelor helped his own cause with a three-run blast. Mike Petrosino and Travers Briana each contributed two hits.
Navigators 5, Bay Sox 3
The Lynn-based Navigators snapped a three-game losing streaks with the win over the New Bedford Bay Sox as Mike Gallo pitched eight inning to pick up the win. Chris Kowalski, got the save. John Hill had a run-scoring single that tied the game in the seventh
BASKETBALL
Triton 52, Ipswich 36
Charles Anderson paced Triton with 17 points and Doug Shaugnessy (12) and Aaron Jessen (10) led the Ipswich scorers in a North Shore Sports League game held at Salem State College.
Gloucester 64, N'port 63 (OT)
Caulin Rodgers scored a game-high 20 points and Alex St. Peter added 14 points for the Fishermen. Kyle Uhlig (16 points), Nick Welch (14) and DJ Grabowski (11) produced for the Clippers in this North Shore High School League matchup.
St. John's Prep 52, Ipswich 37
The Eagles were led by Justin Marenko with nine points. Matt Murgh chipped in with 11 points for the Tigers.
Georgetown 55, Melrose 40
The Royals' Mike Mussman scored 13 points in the win.
Beverly 63, H-W 42
The Panthers received a game-high 20 points from Chris Keaton, with Leo Torres adding 18 points. Pat Hendrickson posted 10 points for the Generals.
