LACROSSE

Long-time coach and Peabody lacrosse supporter Bill Heckman will be honored at the Boston Cannons game on July 18 at Harvard Stadium. Tickets are $20 for a game ticket and pre-game tailgate barbeque. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Greg Shidler at peabodyyouthlax@comcast.net.

FIELD HOCKEY

Danvers YMCA will hold a field hockey clinic for girls entering grades 5-9 from July 27-30, from 5:15 p.m.-7:30 p.m. each night. The clinic costs $40 and will be led by Danvers High coach Barbara Damon. Sticks can be supplied. For more information or for an application form, call (978) 774-2055.

GOLF

The Newhall/Gaffey Benefit Golf Tournament will be held on July 18 at 4:00 p.m. at Gannon Golf Course in Lynn. The tournament will be held to 120 players, and sign-up is on a first-come first-serve basis by calling the Gannon Pro Shop at (781) 592-8238. Proceeds will go to the Brain Aneurysm Center of Massachusetts General Hospital and The American Diabetes Association. BASEBALL

Beverly High School Varsity Baseball Coach Dave Wilbur will be conducting a pitching clinic from July 13-16, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Balch Park. The clinic is for ages 8-14 and costs $75. For more information, call Dave Wilbur at (978) 921-5366 or the Beverly Recreation Dept. at (978) 921-6606.

FOOTBALL

Former Patriots linebacker David Bavaro and his brother, former Giants tight end Mark Bavaro, will be holding an instructional football clinic the week of July 20-24 between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Austin Prep in Reading. The clinic is non-contact and designed to improve fundamentals at all positions for children ages 8-18. Austin Prep football head coach Bill Maradei will also be leading the clinic. The North Shore Football Clinic will be held at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School July 28-30 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The clinic, which will take place on the back fields at the high school, will include high school and youth football coaches, current high school football captains, former players and guest speakers.
