Wrestling

Beverly High wrestling coach Mark Thomas will host a clinic from July 28-30 at Beverly High, from 9 to 11 a.m. each day. This is for students entering fifth through ninth grade. The cost is $75. To register, call the Beverly Recreation Dept. at 978-921-6067.

Swimming

The Witch City Swim Meet is set for today at the Forest River Pool, beginning at 6 p.m. The entry fee is $3.00 for ages 16 and under and $5.00 for over-16 swimmers. For more information, contact the Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services Dept. at 978-744-0180.

Field Hockey

The Danvers YMCA will hold a field hockey clinic for all girls entering grades 5-9 on July 28-31, from 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on each of those days. Strike One in Danvers is offering field hockey clinics this summer. One is set for Aug. 4-8, 9 a.m. to noon, for ages 15-18. Another clinic, strictly for goalies, runs from July 26-Aug. 9, from 9 a.m to 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays.

Strike One also has an indoor field hockey league that started this week and runs to Aug. 13, with games on Mondays and Wednesdays. To register or for more information, call 978-739-4700.

Basketball

Hoop Mountain's annual summer basketball camp with Bishop Fenwick coach Sean Connolly (Ohio State), John Dullea (New Hampshire) and Bishop Fenwick girls coach Tim Harrington will be held Aug. 4-8 at the Higgins Middle School in Peabody. The Mass Hoop Elite Basketball Skill Development Camp will be held Aug. 11-15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for girls and boys ages 7-15 at the Ipswich High School gymnasium. The camp, run under the direction of Zach and Mandy Zegarowski, will offer skill development and fundamentals for each level of children. All participants will receive a T-shirt and individual written evaluations. Cost is $175 for the first child and $75 for each additional child in a particular family, with a cap of $300 per family. Scholarships are also available. To secure a spot, please mail a $50 deposit to Mass Hoop Elite, 261 Cutler Road, South Hamilton, MA 01982, along with your child's name, address and age. The Rising Star Basketball School will be held at Marblehead High from Aug. 11-15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. This is for players between the ages of 9-18.
