ROAD RACE

Brenda's Bosom Buddies 5k race in Peabody and attracted over 200 runners in a fund-raising effort for Brenda Forsythe's battle with breast cancer. Beverly's John Ayers won the race in 4:56, while Kara Cheever of Beverly was the first female finisher in 17:19. Rounding out the top five for the men were Mike DiMauro of Andover (15:25), Wesley Lassen of Beverly (15:32), Joe Gurczak of Newburyport (15:36), and Timothy Short of Burlington (15:57). For the female division, April Rossetti of Saugus (19:26), Veronica Caufield of Salem (19:31), Diane Lapierre of Beverly (19:52) and Nancy Krouse of Peabody (20:02) finished second through fifth, respectively.

FOOTBALL

Ipswich High School's Stadium will be dedicated in honor of Jack Welch on Thursday, Nov. 26 at halftime of the annual Thanksgiving Day football game against Hamilton-Wenham. The athletic department would like to invite the friends and family as well as all former players, coaches, colleagues and students of the long time Ipswich High School teacher and coach to this dedication ceremony.

WINTER SPORTS MEETING

Beverly High will have its winter sports information night Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Beverly High cafeteria. This is for parents/guardians of winter athletes and will also contain information regarding the construction project.

THANKSGIVING DAY TICKETS

Tickets for the Salem vs. Beverly football game at Salem's Bertram Field on Thanksgiving will be available for purchase at the athletic offices of both Beverly and Salem High schools. Reserved seats will cost $10 dollars while general admission tickets will cost $5 dollars for students and $7 dollars for adults. All tickets will cost $10 dollars on Thanksgiving Day.
