It's hard enough to earn minutes as a sophomore in a sea of seniors. It's even more difficult to crack the starting lineup. Yet the Peabody girls basketball team doesn't just have one sophomore getting the job done — it has two. -

BOSTON — There wasn't much that separated the Beverly, Peabody and Marblehead girls track teams this winter.
Yesterday at the Northeastern Conference indoor championship at the Reggie Lewis Center, the Tanners and the Panthers were only 5-hundreths of a second apart. -

Thursday's area roundup: Tanner gymnasts earn first win
GYMNASTICS
In their last home meet of the season, the Peabody gymnastics team didn't disappoint and pulled of a 121.8-121.65 victory over Hamilton-Wenham.
The Tanners (1-7) were led by their senior captains, which was fitting given that it was senior night for the team. Aimee Sinewtz placed first in the all-around with 31.1 and came first on floor (8.3). Julie Armstrong was second in the all-around with a 30.5, placing second on vault (8.3). - Local schedule
