BOSTON - The Red Sox avoided arbitration with right-hander Kyle Snyder yesterday, agreeing to a one-year, $535,000 contract.
Snyder made $335,000 in 2006, when he was waived by the Kansas City Royals after one appearance and claimed by the Red Sox in June. He went 4-5 with a 6.02 ERA in 16 games for Boston, 10 of them starts as the Red Sox tried to piece together a crumbling rotation.
