BEVERLY - Brian Wylie has been named the new Director of Athletics at Endicott College, the school announced yesterday.
Wylie, one of the original founders of men's athletics at Endicott, takes over the position from the departing Larry Hiser. He will officially begin his duties on Monday. He will oversee 18 varsity sports split evenly between men and women at the college.
A 1993 St. Anselm graduate who earned a Master of Education degree in Organizational Development from Endicott in 2002, Wylie started the Gulls' men's lacrosse program in 1995 and the men's ice hockey team in 2002.
He is the son of Endicott president Dr. Richard E. Wylie.
"This opportunity allows me to reinforce the three passions I have in my life with education, athletics and family as a standard for the Endicott athletic programs," Wylie said in a statement. "By working closely with tremendous coaches, faculty and staff, along with premier student-athletes, I'm confident that we can elevate this program as a benchmark for which other collegiate programs can emulate."
