Danvers basketball team to ride in LL parade

The Danvers High boys basketball team will be treated with another honor later this month when it rides together as part of the Danvers Little League Parade.

The Falcons completed a 21-4 season by defeating St. Joseph's of Pittsfield for the Division 3 state championship less than a month ago. The title was the first in program history.

Danvers basketball players and coaches will ride in a trolley donated by Salem Trolley through the parade route that begins at Lyons Ambulance and continues through downtown Danvers, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 28.

The Danvers basketball cheerleaders will also participate in the parade.

Thirty-three teams qualified in East Division 3 and 32 earned a place in Division 2. Division 1, meanwhile, was the low number of the bunch with 25 qualifiers, but that bracket has never been more even.
