RADIO SPORTS

Peabody High soccer and tennis star Greg Doonan, this year's Salem News Student-Athlete of the Year and a monthly winner of the Moynihan Lumber Student-Athlete program, will be one of the featured guests on Saturday's "North Shore Sports Desk" from 8-9 a.m. on radio station North Shore 104.9 FM.

Dave Jellerson, the architect behind the unprecedented success of the Beverly High girls track and field program, will also be on the show, as will Manchester Essex three-sport standout Annie Osborne, as well as Gary Larrabee with news from the North Shore golf world. Trivia and prizes will be awarded during the show, and calls are welcome throughout the hour at 1-800-370-1049. Salem News sports editor Phil Stacey and North Shore 104.9 FM Sports Director Pete Kelley are the show's co-hosts.

SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

The Marblehead High All-Sports Boosters awarded $1,000 scholarships to the following student-athletes at graduation: Katie Fallon, Emily Futcher, Nick Haller, Ryan Heffrin, Kathleen Herlihy, Taylor Maag, Margaret McMullen, Cory Meyer, Kelsey Pedersen, Ross Peterson, Hayley Robb and Elizabeth Whitehill.

ROAD RACE

The Lynnfield Athletic Association's 42nd annual 5K road race will be held on Saturday, July 4 from town hall at 55 Summer St. in Lynnfield. Registration is from 7:30-8:45 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m. The cost will be $20 and there will also be a 2-mile fun walk that will cost $5 a person or $10 per family. YOUTH FOOTBALL

The Beverly Panthers Football Youth Skills Clinic will take place July 6-10 at Beverly High School. The clinic, led by Beverly head coach Dan Bauer, is available to kids in grades 2-7. The cost is $95, with registration taking place through the Beverly Parks and Recreation Dept.

GOLF

The 14th annual Beverly Hockey Alumni Golf Tournament will be held Monday, July 13 at Beverly Golf & Tennis Club. The tournament will be a bramble format with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start (a continental breakfast will be served at 7 a.m.), and golf carts will be provided. Following golf, a cookout and party will be held at West Beach beginning at 1 p.m., with numerous raffle prizes available. Cost is $135 per golfer and limited to 144 participants. Golfers are asked to sign up as a foursome, and payments are due by June 1. Proceeds will be dispersed to the Friends of Beverly High Hockey, Beverly High School Girls Co-operative Hockey Team, and Beverly Youth Hockey Association.
