No-hitters power Peabody West, Beverly East 12-year-old all-stars to victories

Tim Connelly fired a no-hitter with nine strikeouts to power the Peabody West 12-year-old all-star baseball team over Topsfield, 11-0, recently at Bowen Field in Ipswich.

Connelly threw 75 pitches and walked just three hitters as Peabody West won by the 10-run mercy rule. In the final inning, Connelly struck out two Topsfield hitters before getting a ground ball out to end the game.

Offensively, Peabody West got a two-run home run from Robert Smith and a two-run single from Nick Perates. In addition, Jordan Buonopane also had a strong game.

Justin Carnevale, Chris Deliuso and Jimmy Kastrankis all hit home runs to power Beverly East, which took an 8-0 lead after just one inning.
