Zecha propels Falcons to win in triple OT
NORTH SHORE GIRLS BASKETBALL
Danvers 53, Austin Prep 48 (3 OT)
Joanna Zecha was 5-for-6 from the charity stripe in the third overtime to lead the Falcons to victory in the North Shore High School Summer Basketball League playoffs at Plains Park in Danvers.
Zecha finished with a team-high 13 points for Danvers while teammate Kelly Macdonald added 11 points in the win.
Manchester-Essex 39, Ipswich 28
Shannon Mcfayden scored 11 points to lead Ipswich, who was eliminated from the playoffs with the loss. Lizzy Ball scored a game-high 17 points for Manchester Essex.
Bishop Fenwick 53, Stoneham 33
Amy Pelletier scored a team-high 17 points for the Crusaders while teammate Sydney Southern chipped in with 13 points of her own. In other action last night, Beverly defeated Wakefield by way of forfeit.

Matt Lanza pitched a complete game for the Panthers at the Duquette Sports Academy in Hinsdale, allowing just five hits and one unearned run.
Connor Walsh led Beverly on offense with three hits and a run scored. Frank Messina and Joe Wioncek each recorded a hit and a RBI while Nick Colanto finished with two hits, a RBI and a run scored.
Beverly's next game will be today against the Long Island Indians.
LITTLE LEAGUE 11s
Weston 10, Swampscott 0
Swampscott lost in the first round of the Section 4 tournament, but will look to get back in the win column tomorrow (5 p.m.).

It's going to be considerably different for the Beverly High girls cross country team this season. However, that doesn't mean the Panthers are less ambitious.

The opening game of the season will pit Swampscott at Gloucester on Friday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. The following day, Sept. 11, MSO will do the Concord-Carlisle at Beverly game at 1 p.m. -

Endicott women blank UMass Dartmouth, 2-0
WOMEN'S COLLEGE SOCCER
endicott 2, umass dartmouth 0: Sophomore Caitlin Peters was outstanding on both ends of the field, setting up two goals and helping shut down the UMass Dartmouth attack in the Green and Blue's home opnener. Alexandra Sutter scored to open the second half on a rebound off a Peters' shot and then Danvers native Kayla Corbett followed up three minutes later capitalizing on another blocked shot by Peters heading the ball into the back of the net to give the Gulls (1-0-1) the two-goal win. - Gulls hold off Van Alstyne, Framingham State in 3 OT
