BEVERLY — It was a beautiful day yesterday as the Endicott men's soccer team hosted Bridgewater State in its 2011 season opener.
The end result, however, wasn't nearly as beautiful for the host Gulls.
The visiting Bears scored a pair of first-half goals to leave Endicott Stadium with a 2-0 triumph. The loss dropped Endicott to 0-2 on the young season.
Alex Elia and Ryan Coates both had good chances to score in the first half for the Gulls off corner kicks, but their shots sailed wide. Bobby Durben's late chance was blocked by a Bridgewater defender, as well.
Aaron Kante and Alex Jorge split the goaltending duties for Endicott, with each making three saves in one half of play.
