Area roundup: Salem State lacrosse knocks off Gordon to remain undefeated

Salem State 13, Gordon 8: Junior captain and Salem native Frank Lento scored two goals and added four assists as the Vikings (3-0) outlasted Gordon to stay perfect on the young season. Ben Melaugh added three goals and two helpers for Salem State while Bobby Bourgeois added two goals and one assist and beverly native Max Ganesenberg aslo scored twice.Jeremy Nelson led Gordon with a hat trick while Miso Sison scored two goals and Jake Martin pitched in one goal and one assists. Salem State golaie Dylan Svenson made 14 saves and the Vikes had the edge in both shots (41-36) and groundballs (35-20).


Endicott falters: At the Rebel Spring Games in Florida, Endicott (0-4) fell to Augsburg, 7-3 and Anderson, Indiana, 13-4. Colleen Martin homered and drove in a pair of runs in the second game and outfielder Byrne Katz hit a 2-run homer in the first contest.


Endicott 7, Framingham State 5: Endicott remained unbeaten on the season, improving to 3-0 in a non-league game played in Lakeland, Florida.


Endicott 5, McDaniel 4: The Gulls (1-2) earned their first match win of the season in South Carolina. Benjamin Randlett and Michael Dolph teamed up to win second doubles (8-6) while also winning singles matches in straight sets at third and fifth, respectively. Oliver Joggi won at No. 1 singles for Endicott in a tiebreaker and Justin Warshavsky also prevailed at No. 6.
