Area roundup: Danvers field hockey shuts down Peabody


Salem 15, Lynn English 50: Marlena Udden won the race and set a new course record with a time of 20:51 to move the Witches to 2-5 overall.


Endicott 2, Nichols 1: Connor Gibbs scored his first of the season, deflecting an Alex Elia throw, to lift the Gulls (8-6-3, 3-2-2 CCC) to a road conference win. Justin Lavallee scored on a pass from Jordan Daniel in the first half and EC keeper Dan Higgins made four saves.


Salem State 5, Worcester State 0: The teams of Michelle McEwen/Maddy Ward and Jessica Spinale/Anna Yaskell won at the top two doubles spots as Salem State (7-4) advanced in the Little East tournament. McEwen and Ward also won singles matches while Lauren Woods/Tara Garvey completed the sweep.


Salem State 3, Mass. Maritime 0: The Lady Vikings won at their Dig Pink event to raise money and awareness for breast cancer, taking all three sets with 22 service aces. Kenia McKeon had seven aces and three kills, Karya Bowen had five aces and three kills and Morgan Rae Shambo had 14 assists.

Endicott 3, Wentworth 0: The Gulls (10-16) won 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 behind Callie Dolan’s eight kills and two blocks. Hannah Dahlgren contributed eight kills and four blocks to the winning effort.
