Andover 5, Masconomet 0: The Chieftains (9-7) fell in a non-league match, though Alexa Ina and Samantha Moynihan put up a strong fight at No. 2 doubles in an entertaining 6-4, 7-5 decision.
Beverly 5, revere 0: The Panthers (10-4) won all five matches in straight sets with an all senior lineup on Senior Day. Meggie Manzo (6-0, 6-1), Jill Morneau (6-1, 6-0) and Pheobe Blau (6-2, 6-0) won at singles and the doubles teams of Christine Green/Katie Lane (6-0, 6-1) and Alyssa Kastrinakis/Tess Greenberg (6-2, 6-1) also cruised. Beverly can earn the NEC Large crown with a win over Peabody on Monday.
Ipswich 5, Newburyport 0: The Tigers took all five points to improve to 6-6 and need one more win to qualify for the postseason. Ashley Sulkin (6-0, 6-0), Lexi Lopez (6-3, 6-0) and Hannah Lynch (6-1, 6-2) prevailed in singles play and the doubles teams of Abby McCarthy/Kristin Klimowicz (6-1, 6-2) and Lizzy Gray/Heather Sweeney (7-6, 7-5) also swept.
Manchester Essex 3, Marblehead 2: The Magicians (15-1) suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the undefeated Hornets. Third singles player Meghan Gabel took her match 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, while Amanda Gilberg/Sarah Catz (6-1, 6-2) won at second doubles.
Salem 15, Gr. Lowell 6: The Witches (10-3) continued to play well with Alexa Gilbert scoring four goals with two assists to lead the scoring. Kristina LeBlanc added three goals with one assist, Philine Pepperkamp scored three goals with two helpers and Emily Coelho chipped in two goals. Danielle Pynn made six saves, Shayna Hall added two assists, Courtney Maurice scored twice and Xhulia Kanani added a goal and an assist for Salem.
Masconomet 14, Ipswich 12: Kathleen Gillespie recorded a game-high six goals to improve the Chieftains to 13-5 overall. Rachel Rogal added three and Meg Collins finished with a pair of goals. Lili Miller made 10 saves and was strong in goal down the stretch.
Peabody 17, Swampscott 6: Keifer Heckman netted game-high 10 goals and three assists, which set the school’s single game scoring record with 13 points. Heckman also broke the program’s single season scoring record notching 108 point this year. Nick Ouelette finished with three goals, while Josh Fiore and Eric Hennessey added a pair of markers.
Westford Academy 13, Masconomet 6: Tighe Van Lenten made 13 saves to help keep the Chieftains (11-7) in the game, but the Grey Ghosts had too much firepower. Cam Jung led Masco’s offense with three goals, Max Craig had a goal and two assists and Trevor Surrette and Sam Antczak each scored once.
