Veteran Danvers High baseball coach Roger Day is giving private baseball lessons for pitching, hitting and fielding. If interested, please contact Day at 978-771-1825.

Registration for Danvers Babe Ruth in the Prep (13-year-old) and Major (14-15) divisions runs through April 11. The fee is $140, and the divisions begin in late April and run through the end of June. The Senior Division, for players ages 16-19, has a signup deadline of May 11. Fee is $160, and there will be competitive tryouts for this one team, which begins play June 1 and concludes in mid-August. There will also be an Lou Thompkins summer team for the first time, with games being played from mid-June through the end of August and travelling throughout Eastern Mass. to play. Salem-Beverly Baseball will be holding a “Coffee with the Coaches” event Saturday at the Beverly Senior Center (90 Colon Street). Administrators and coaches will be there to discuss all programs with players aged 13-21 as there is space available in all age divisions for all skill levels ranging from recreational to highly competitive.
