It happened exactly 364 days ago — one of the greatest upsets in Danvers High hockey history, and one of the most bitter defeats in Beverly High hockey annals.
Circumstances have brought these bitter on-ice rivals together again tonight, where the Panthers will host the Falcons before what will undoubtedly be a sold out crowd at Stoneham Arena (7:45 p.m.) in the Division 2 North quarterfinals.
Danvers scored the game-winning goal with 11 seconds to play — on its only shot of the period, no less — to stun the Panthers last season, 4-3. So is another huge upset in the cards for the Falcons tonight? Or do the Panthers get the revenge they’ve so desperately sought for the past year?
