A Beverly High Hockey Alumni Game will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, from 4-6 p.m. at Salem State’s Rockett Arena. Cost is $20 per player, with all proceeds going to cover ice time as well as giving back to the BHS hockey program. Those interested are asked to contact Brendan Fullerton at


Salem Youth Basketball registration is still open to all boys and girls ages 9-15. To sign up, go to the Senior Center at 5 Broad Street in Salem. Cost is $50, with games being played once a week starting in December. For more information, please call Cowan White at 978-828-5450.


Precision Soccer’s Holiday Soccer Skills Clinics for boys and girls will be held this Sunday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The vacation clinic will be held Monday, Dec. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon at Soccer Etc. Registration is $35 and can be completed online at or by calling 508-932-6248.


Beverly Little League will have winter clinics for players ages 5-8 on Sunday afternoons from Jan. 5 to Feb. 2. The program will run from 12:30-1:45 p.m. for 5-6-year-olds and from 2-3:15 p.m. for 7-and-8-year-olds. All clinics are held in the Beverly High School Field House, and registration, which takes place at the first session, is $25.


Beverly Little League’s winter clinics for players ages 9-12 will be held Saturday mornings at Extra Innings in Middleton from Jan. 4- to Feb. 1. Registration is $50 and will be held at Harry Ball Field on Dec. 28 for the final time from 10-11 a.m. The program is limited to 60 players.

Marblehead Youth Baseball registration has opened and each player who registers before Dec. 31 will receive a $25 discount. Starting Jan. 1, 2014, normal registration fees will apply. Please go to to register.


The North Shore Baseball Umpires Association (NSBUA) invites anyone interested in becoming certified as an umpire to register for and attend our upcoming training class. Classes will be held on Monday evenings beginning January 6th at 6:15 p.m. Classes are held at North Shore Tech in Middleton (just off Route 114). The $100 fee, due at the first class, includes a rule book, study guides, the test for admission, and membership dues to the NSBUA for 2014. Any questions, please email


Lynn Classical is seeking two experienced offensive assistant football coaches for the 2014 season. Interested candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience at the high school level or higher. Positions to be filled include an offensive coordinator as well as an offensive skills coach (quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers). Salary will be commensurate with experience.
