GIRLS BASKETBALL

Salem 59, Everett 50: Brianna Rodriguez had a standout game for the Witches, finishing with 21 points in the victory. Maritza Scott (10 points) and Jaclyn Panneton (16 points) also played well, while Rachael Zipper (12 points) continues to strengthen her game after returning from injury.

Swampscott 47, Marblehead 46: The Big Blue pulled off a huge victory on the road last night after Olivia Cooke hit a late free-throw to put her team up by one. Jaymie Caponigro (16 points) and Jackie Walsh (20 points) contributed on offense, while Emma Wright stood out on defense.

GYMNASTICS

Peabody 120.05, Ipswich/Gloucester 114.45: The Tanners earned their first win of the season after Sam Kinnaly took first in that all-around (32.45). She placed second on vault (8.3), first on beam (8.4) and third on floor (8.0). Aubrey Irvine finished second in the all-around (31.65), placing third on vault (7.9), second on bars (8.0), second on beam (7.6) and first on floor (8.15).
