Peabody 4, Cambridge 1: Elise Murphy scored a pair of goals to help the Tanners (3-10-1) earn their first win in a month and avenge an earlier loss to the Falcons. Goaltender Lauren Hennessey returned from an injury suffered in mid-December and made 25 saves and Kristen Hennessey also had a goal.
Masconomet 2, Leominster 2: Maddy Werner and Nell Criscione scored in the second period to give the Chieftains a 2-1 lead heading into the third. Leominster scored with 36 seconds left in the game to tie things up. Molly Kelley made 18 saves between the pipes, while Kylie Currier was credited with the assist on Criscione’s goals.
Salem 5, East Boston 0: Freshman Mike Gillis had a four-point night with two goals and two assists while senior captain Brett Harring was a rock between the pipes with 26 saves for the shutout as the Witches (7-5-2) moved to within four points of a playoff spot. Sam Petri also had a big game with a goal and two helpers; Danny Heck scored once and assist on another; and defenseman Jackson Jennings also ripped the twine. Defensemen Eli Spector and Matt Jalbert also finished with assists for Salem.
Danvers 3, Gloucester 2: Matt Flynn’s third period goal lifted the Falcons (7-8-1) over the Fishermen. Defenseman Ryan Cassidy had tied the game for Danvers in the third period 59 seconds before Flynn’s game-winner. Ryan Buchanan also scored for DHS; Alex Taylor had 18 saves and Kyle Cahill, Stephen Ganley and captain Kevin Hodgkins had assists.
Masconomet 2, Lynnfield 0: Senior Mitch Nekoroski stopped all 17 shots that came his way, lowering his goals-against average to 1.61 while posting his first career shutout for the Chieftains (8-3-2) on Senior Day. Both goals came in the second period as Jake Esposito scored 18 seconds into the middle stanza and defenseman Tyler Costello lit the lamp at the 8-minute mark. Joe Griffin assisted on both goals while Jeff Panella and Joe Emma had single helpers.
