Tuesday's area roundup: Fenwick boys and girls track grab CCL all-stars

The Catholic Central League announced its 2013 spring track all-stars and plenty of Bishop Fenwick athletes were honored.

The Crusader girls finished a perfect 9-0 in dual meets and won the CCL title. They had all-stars in Caroline Claveau (discus), Rose Fanzotti (long jump), Andrea Klos (400) and Sydney Packard (800). Fenwick’s 4x100 relay (Fantozzi, Kaleigh Price, Nicole Lizotte and Colleen Corcoran) and 4x800 relay (Packard, Hannah Smith, Jennifer Jordan and Arianna Maida) were also named all-star.

Bishop Fenwick’s boys team, which finished the season 8-1, saw Pat Corcoran (shot put) and Charlie Maistrellis (200) named CCL all-stars. The boys 4x800 relay of Bryan Mendes, Bill Noftle, Frank Tambini and Eric Loehle also grabbed league all-star distinction.


Masconomet toppled Wakefield, 37-18, behind Meggie Collins’ 12 points. Ipswich took down Lynnfield, 44-37, with Masey Zegarowski scoring 14. Hamilton-Wenham beat Damnvers. 36-29, Hayley Willis scored 10 and Devan Walsh scored 16. Bishop Fenwick toppled Gloucester, 35-19, behind Kate Lipka’s 10 points.
