---- — A pair of former St. John's Prep star forwards have been named to the NHL Central Scouting's midterm rankings for players who are draft eligible this summer.
Shane Eiserman, who has a freshman helped lead St. John's to the Super 8 championship game, was ranked as the No. 39 North American skater. Now playing in the United States Hockey League for the Dubuque Fighting Saints, the 6-foot-1 1/2, 200-pound Eiserman, who can play center or wing, is projected as a possible second or third round draft pick.
Tyler Bird, who left St. John's Prep after his junior year this past season and transferred to Kimball Union prep school in Maine, was ranked as the No. 123 North American skater. The big right winger (6-foot-1, 202 pounds) was recently featured in The Hockey News for the season he's had thus far at the prep school level for the Wildcats of Meriden, N.H.
The 52nd annual NHL Entry Draft is scheduled to be held June 27-28 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
