WITCH CITY BASKETBALL
h-W EDGES SALEM IN FINAL: Hamilton-Wenham defeated Salem 67-54 in the final of the 7th Annual Andrew Viglas Witch City Basketball Tournament this weekend. The tourney, which featured eight boys high school basketball teams, is played in honor of Viglas, a former Salem High athlete who died in a car accident in 1995.
All proceeds from the tournament go to a scholarship presented to a Salem High student-athlete. This year's recipient was Salem High valedictorian Sean Linehan, who is headed to Holy Cross.
In addition to Salem and Hamilton-Wenham, Saugus and Cambridge advanced to yesterday's semifinal round.
