Danvers junior power forward Devan Harris already had a memorable first season with the Falcons before the Northeastern Conference boys basketball all-star meeting was held last night.
Harris, who helped guide Danvers to an NEC Small title and spot in the Division 2 North final, was recognized by the league’s coaches last night, earning co-MVP of the league along with Lynn Classical’s Phil Rogers.
Harris was a double-double machine for the Falcons all season, and he did some of his best work late in the year. He averaged 23.7 points and 14.5 rebounds per game in Danvers’ four postseason contests.
Falcons’ coach John Walsh was also recognized by the league, taking home Coach of the Year.
Lynn English’s Fred Hogan and Erick Rosario, Beverly’s John Berchoff and Salem’s Jamie Dominguez joined Rogers and Harris on the All-Conference team.
The complete list of league all-stars is expected to be announced today.
