Monday's area roundup: Gordon women's lacrosse drops New England College

WOMEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE

Sophomore Jessica Castelline scored three goals and added three assists to power Gordon by New England College, 19-8, on the road yesterday.

Anna Blomberg scored three times and added two assists and Stephanie Fitzgerald had two goals with four assists as the Scots (5-1 overall) led 8-3 at halftime and outscored the hosts 11-5 in the second half to ensure victory. Bailey Grinnell also scored three goals in the victory.

In addition, Jane Dietrich had two goals and AC Ashton, Amanda Faucher, Hannah Schilke, Anna Rourke, Lisa Richardson and Kelly Linehan all scored once. Danielle Maguire, Julianna Kirkpatrick and Holly O’Brien combined to earn the victory in goal.

Curry 17, Salem State 4: Katie Hart scored three of her team’s goal, but Curry leaped out to a 12-1 first half lead and Salem State fell to 1-4 on the season. Kristina Conlon also had a goal for the Vikings and Cheyenne Jackson faced a barrage and made 11 saves.

 

MEN’S COLLEGE TENNIS

Gordon 7, Salem State 2: The Fighting Scots put an end to six match skid by taking care of Salem State. Gordon improved to 2-7 on the season while the Vikings slipped to 0-2 this spring.
