Calling Audibles: Getting to know the area's high school quarterbacks

Editor’s note: The following is an offbeat Q&A providing unique insight into the players lining up under center and calling signals on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons across the North Shore.

What is your favorite subject in school? Government.

What is your favorite play to run during a game? Either a QB “con” or a curl route.

Is there any special meaning behind your jersey number? I wear No. 5 because I grew up loving Nomar Garciaparra.

What is your favorite TV show? Friday Night Lights.

Who is your favorite college or pro QB to watch? Ohio State’s Braxton Miller.

How do you think the Red Sox will do in the playoffs? They’re going all the way: World Series champs.

Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals? I always put on my left sock first and I like to take a shower.

What’s the best advice you’ve received before a game? “Come out and smack them in the mouth.”

What’s your favorite sport to watch besides football? College basketball.

What’s the one sporting event you wish you could attend in person? I’ve always wanted to take in a football game at Notre Dame.

What’s the best book you’ve read? ‘The Outsiders’ by S.E. Hinton.

Whats your dream car? Either a red Corvette or black Hummer.

If you could throw to one receiver or tight end from the NFL in a game, who would you choose? Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys.
