Weekend area roundup: Peabody boys soccer stays hot

The Peabody boys soccer team continued its roll this weekend, knocking off Billerica, 2-0, to remain unbeaten.

Vinny Dos Santos and Jake Silva each scored goals while Kenny Sawyer, Ben Manoogian and C.J. Alimonti added assists for the 7-0-2 Tanners.

“We’re playing well and we played well down there. I thought we controlled the game and moved the ball well,” Peabody coach Stan McKeen said. “We took advantage of some opportunities and there were some more opportunities that we probably should have (taken advantage of).”

Rob Smith earned his fifth shutout of the season while Ben Britton and Nick Bettencourt stood out on defense and Connor Wolff played well in the midfield.


University of New England 5, Endicott 2: Stacie Teevens and Meghan Leary each scored their first goals of the season, but it wasn’t enough for the Gulls, who slipped to 6-6.


Endicott 9, Wentworth 0: Chrissy Martel, Amy Heacox, Natalie Egbert, Suzie Newman, Mackenzie Rhodes, and Brittany Potter each won at singles to highlight the Gulls’ victory.


Endicott 3, Roger Williams 2: Callie Dolan had 18 kills and Alleigh VandeMerkt added 43 assists as the Gulls stunned nationally ranked Roger Williams.


Western New England 1, Endicott 0: Jessica Joseph and LeeAnn Card stood out for Endicott (7-4-1), but the Gulls suffered the loss.


Western New England 1, Endicott 0: Western New England spoiled Endicott’s homecoming with this loss. The Gulls slipped to 6-6.
