Calling Audibles: Getting to know the area's high school quarterbacks

Editor’s note: The following is an offbeat Q&A providing unique insight into the players lining up under center and calling signals on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons across the North Shore.

Marblehead Senior

What is your favorite subject in school?: Civics, because it’s interesting and discussion-based.

What is your favorite play to run during a game?: Whenever I get to run with the ball.

Is there any special meaning behind your jersey number?: I was always No. 9, but Colton Dana had it when I was a sophomore so I chose No. 2 and decided to stick with it. My brother Will wears 9 now.

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: ESPN First Take.

Who are your favorite college QBs to watch?: Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel.

How do you think the Red Sox will do in the playoffs?: They’ll win the World Series.

Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?: I always get to school really early on game day.

What’s the best advice you’ve received before a game?: “There’s nothing more you can do to prepare. All you have to do now is execute.”

What’s your favorite sport to play besides football?: Basketball, both playing and watching.

What is the best sporting even you’ve ever attended in person?: I went to the Patriots/Saints game (with Tom Brady’s last second TD to Kenbrell Thompkins) last Sunday with Coach (Mike) Giardi and it was incredible.

What’s the best book you’ve read?: ‘When the Game Was Ours’ by Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

Whats your dream car?: My current car, a 2004 tan Ford Explorer.

If you could throw to one receiver or tight end from the NFL in a game, who would you choose?: A healthy Rob Gronkowski (New England Patriots tight end).
