Salem pitches shutout in beating Revere for second time this season

Christian Costa caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Shakir White in the first half and teammate Aaron Palmer iced the game with a 4-yard scoring run in the final stanza as the Salem High football team blanked host Revere, 14-0, last night at Della Russo Stadium.

It was the second time this season that the Witches (2-6) defeated Revere, having previously toppled the Patriots, 21-14, three weeks ago.

White, who also kicked both of Salem’s extra points, completed 4 of 7 pass for 116 yards, including a 62-yard strike to Anferny Jiminez.

Palmer led Salem with 90 yards rushing on 15 carries, giving him 792 carries on the season. Genrri Rosario added 66 carries on nine attempts.

Salem is scheduled to play its first home game of the 2013 season at the newly renovated Bertram Field next Friday night when it hosts Boston Latin (7 p.m.).

Chelmsford 37, Peabody 14: Andrew McLaughlin scored on a 70-yard pass from Mike Raymond on the first play of the game, but Chelmsford scored 37 straight points to win. The Tanners dipped to 3-5.

Tanner Moquin also caught a touchdown pass while Billy Teehan (2 sacks) and Cody Wlasuk played hard for Peabody.
