Tuesday's area roundup: Salem girls soccer falls to Arlington in quarterfinals


Mass. Maritime 1, Salem State 0: Fourth-seeded Mass Maritime scored with under two minutes to play to break a scoreless tie and oust Salem State in the MASCAC tournament. The Vikings (3-13-1) rode Nondas Kargakis’ five save effort to keep it 0-0 most of the way.


Endicott 3, Eastern Nazarene 0: The Gulls (21-14) swept their way into the Commonwealth Coast Conference semi-finals, 25-12, 25-20, 25-17. MacKenzie Guerre had an Endicott-best 12 kills and Alleigh Vandemerkt paced the attack with 25 assists.


Worcester State 1, Salem State 0 (OT): Keeper Rachel Ledbetter made four saves as the fifth-seed Vikings and fourth-seed Worcester were scoreless into overtime. Worcester netted the winning goal in the 97th minute on a free kick from about 25 yards away as Salem State ends its season 7-8-2.
