Beverly 41, Somerville 8: Senior running back Isaiah White had touchdown runs of 49, 70 and 31 yards respectively to lift the Panthers (5-4) over host Somerville. White, who ran for over 150 yards in the victory, also had an 85 yard kickoff return, while senior running back Steve Negron ran in a score from six yards out and sophomore Christian Miller found the paydirt from 40-yard out in the third quarter. Kicker Matt Madden went 5-for-6 in extra point attempts.
St. John’s Prep 25, Malden 12: Quarterback Michael Geaslen threw four 186 yards, including four touchdown passes to Owen Rockett (3, 11), Jake Burt (16) and Jack Lambert (6).
The Eagles’ (5-4) defense stepped up in a big way as senior Michael Fawehinmi had a pair of interceptions, and Brandon Kahari was also credited with a pick. The Prep’s front four of Sam Gomez, Connor Daly, Sam Sutera and Lambert also stood out defensively. Cody Harwood led all rushers with 83 yards on 22 carries.
