Marblehead 5, Gloucester 0: Chris Wigglesworth (6-0, 6-1), Dimitri Vlassov (6-1, 6-1) and Griffin Butterfield (6-0, 6-0) swept up in singles action for the Magicians (1-1) while Michael Forte/Justin Faia (6-2, 6-4) and Corey Stein/Felix Litvak (6-1, 6-3) also won in straight sets.
Peabody 3, Lynn Classical 2: Igor Chiste won at first singles (6-0, 6-2), as did Scott Perlman (6-4, 6-2) at second singles and the first doubles team of Alex McDonough and Mike Nicoli (6-3, 6-4), enabling the host Tanners to stay unbeaten at 3-0.
Danvers 5, Swampscott 0: Junior Jimmy Cunningham found himself down four games right off the bat, but rallied to win his match, 7-5, 6-3, sending the Falcons (2-0 NEC, 2-1 overall) to victory. Captain Nick Lisichenok (6-0, 6-0) and Brian Daly (6-2, 6-2) were also victorious in singles play while Matt Kidney/Chris Shalkoski (6-0, 6-1) and Kevin Hodgkins Zach Noring (6-4, 6-3) completed the sweep in doubles.
Hamilton-Wenham 99, Newburyport 45: Senior captains Leslie Bynum and Emily Horgan, as well as sophomore Kerry Hull, won two events as the Generals climbed to 4-0 on the season. Bynum captured the javelin (93-2) and discus (108-9); Horgan took top honors in the mile (5:43) and 800 (2:38); and Hull was victorious in the long jump (15-10) and high jump (4-11). Other winners for H-W included Bailey Wallich (triple jump, 32-3), Emily Weigand (2-mile, 12:17), Vanessa Morris (100, 13.3), Emma Beane (400, 61.3) and Kristen Heffernan (200, 28.4).
Newburyport 86, Hamilton-Wenham 59: Shawn Kotch won both the triple jump (39-1) and 110 hurdles (16.2) for the Generals, who fell to 1-3. Bobby Grinnell captured the 400 hurdles (63.6) while Mitch Albanese won the discus (99 feet) and Riley Frackleton was victorious in the long jump (19-3). Hamilton-Wenham also won the 4x100 relay in 46.8 seconds.
Hamilton-Wenham 4, North Reading 2: In a defensive battle, Grant Thompson was stellar in goal for the Generals, which got the game-winning goal from Cam Macri. Christian Ecker added a goal and an assist while Matt Curran and Brian Shaw also scored.
Berwick 6, Pingree 5: Junior Carter Rossano had three goals and two assists while sophomore Sam Ober added a pair of goals for Pingree (1-2). Defensively, the Highlanders held Berwick to just one second half goal.
