BC High 5, St. John’s Prep 0: The defending state champion Eagles from Morrissey Blvd. got the better of the Eagles (4-1) from Danvers on a windy afternoon.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Tufts 17, Salem State 7: The Vikings (19-11) banged out 12 hits in trying to come back from an early 10-1 hole, but nationally ranked Tufts (20-2) finished to end Salem State’s 12-game winning streak. Richard Fecteau went 2-for-5 with three RBI while Mike Lamothe and Ethan Trowt had two hits each. Masconomet grad Speros Varinos threw a scoreless inning for Tufts.

Gordon 14, Lesley 5: An eight-run fifth and a run of 13 straight runs helped Gordon (13-11) stop a three game skid at home. Carlos Pichardo and Alex Smith each had three hits, two runs and two RBI for the Scots, and second baseman Eric Walker had three hits and three RBI.

WOMEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE

Salem State 17, New England College 13: Erin Riley scored seven times to help Salem State (4-7) jump out to a four goal halftime lead they held on to. Kristina Conlon scored four goals for Salem State and Kelsey Russell netted three.

MEN’S COLLEGE TENNIS

UMass Dartmouth 9, Salem State 0: The Vikings (0-7) remained winless on the spring season.
