Monday's area roundup: Second half rally powers Peabody boys soccer


Beverly 6, Winthrop 1: Junior striker Caitlin Harty had a hat trick and added one assist as the visiting Panthers improved to 8-2. Sophomore Eva Goudreau finished with a goal and one assist while Meggie Manzo and Sarah Visnick also scored. Casey Cook, a junior, had a terrific game at midfield for the Panthers as well.


Danvers 1, Saugus 1: Sophomore forward Caitlin McBride scored about seven minutes into the second half to tie the contest for the Falcons (4-4-3). Senior sweeper Hannah Salmonsen had a great game for Danvers as well.

Acton-Boxborough 5, Bishop Fenwick 0: The Crusaders fell to 3-6-2 on the season despite strong midfield games from Jackie Hart, Kathleen Moran and Caitlin Pollard.

Ipswich 3, Hamilton-Wenham 0: The Generals fall to 3-5 after a tough road loss.


Triton 143, Hamilton-Wenham 134: Spencer Bergholtz (28 points), Matt Andre (27) and Brian Nicoll (26) were among the Generals’ high scorers yesterday. Hamilton-Wenham (1-11) improved greatly on its last meeting with Triton after having lost by more than 50 points previously.


Endicott 3, Western New England 1: Hannah Thornberg, Emily Sawchuck and Melissa Enright scored the goals for the Gulls as they remain undefeated in Commonwealth Coast Conference at 5-0 (9-3 overall). Western New England took 10 penalty corners to Endicott’s nine, but Endicott outshot the hosts 18-6.
