Pingree 3, Bancroft 1: Jillian Witwicki factored in all three goals, scoring twice and assisting Maura Grady’s goal as the Highlanders improved to 14-4-1. Pingree, which will host the Eastern Independent League tournament on Saturday and is the top seed, also got two assists from Grady and solid play from Caroline Fay.
Acton-Boxboro 7, Danvers 0: The Falcons proved to be no match for the powerful Colonials in a Division 1 North second round game. Danvers ended its season 10-7-3.
BOYS SOCCER
Pingree 2, Bancroft 0: Senior captain Nate Graves scored a pair of goals and harry Copeland contributed an assist as the Highlanders improved to 5-8-3 with a road win. Senior Hayden Steward earned the shutout, making a great save in the second half while the Highlanders were clinging to a 1-0 lead.
GIRLS SOCCER
Pingree 5, Bancroft 0: Emma Whalen had a hat trick for the Highlanders, who finished the regular season 11-4-1 overall and 9-1-1 in Eastern Independent League play. June Kiley and Eliza Steele also scored and Keri Zerfoss had two assist for Pingree, which hosts the EIL tournament on Saturday.
